About this website

blue_mark

Well this is my website… On this website you can find my blog. There are also lots of random photos. Several people have asked me what the title of the blog means. “Kata Markon” is Greek for “According to Mark” and is the Greek title of the second book of the New Testament, more commonly known in English as “The gospel according to St. Mark” or something like that. It was originally suggested by my Cambridge classicist friend, Patrick.

My name is Mark Zealey and I’m a theologian at Sidney Sussex college in Cambridge University. I’m involved in work with international students at Harry’s cafe (see also Andy’s and Harry’s in the summer. I’m also in charge of organising a trip to China in the summer. For more information, please see the ISEC website.

You can also download some programs which I wrote:

  • geeky was a bot for IRC written in perl.. not used it in years
  • jMSN is a curses-based MSN client also written in perl. I wrote it at a time when there were no decent MSN clients around, however times have changed. It might serve as a good introduction to the MSN protocol or to using non-blocking sockets in perl.
